Sesshin is a multi-day residential Zen Retreat, held this year in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland town of Kenilworth.
It is completed in silence and follows standard Sesshin schedule, which includes periods of sitting, talks (teisho) by a zen teacher, work practice (samu) and individual instruction/dokusan.
It will begin on the evening of 13th May and conclude to mid morning 17th May.
RSVP: Places are limited. Please RSVP as soon as you are able to. Final applications are due two weeks prior to the starting date but may close earlier if maximum numbers are reached. Please contact sunmountainzen@gmail.com if you are interested in attending.
About Sesshin: Sesshin (lit. ‘touching the heart-mind’) is our annual multi-day retreat and a highlight of our event calendar. This event is a three-day form Sesshin and will be a consolidated time of teaching and practice, so that we can together ‘touch the heart’ of Zen.

Venue and Accomodation: Zendo venue is Kenilworth Hall and accomodation will be in a large rented house about 5 minutes drive away.
Bring: Loose fitting warm clothing that is neutral in colour and that can be layered such as cardigans or jumpers. Please bring a shawl or blanket. Meditation mats, cushions, stools and chairs will be provided. Bring your own toiletries and medicines, further details will be mailed to you.
Register: Please contact sunmountainzen@gmail.com indicating whether attending in-person or online and what times and days if attending in-person as well as any dietary needs.
Cancellation: Sesshin requires a minimum number of participants to proceed. It may be postponed or cancelled if insufficient registrants at time of due-date. In this unlikely event, all registrants will be advised and offered full-refund.If you are at all unwell or have gastrointestinal or respiratory symptoms, we request you do not attend so as to avoid passing on illness to others. In such an event, a full refund will be offered and you can participate online. Individual teacher attendance may change depending on life circumstances.
